YT28型鑿巖機(jī)的使用范圍較廣，適用于在中硬或堅(jiān)硬（f=8~18）巖石上鉆鑿水平和傾斜炮孔，也可垂直向上鉆鑿頂板上的錨桿孔。炮孔直徑一般為34~42毫米，有效經(jīng)濟(jì)的鉆孔深度可達(dá)5米。本機(jī)既可以根據(jù)巷道斷面大小與FT160BD型短氣腿、FT160BC型長氣腿或FT160S型雙級氣腿配套使用，也可以裝在鉆車或鉆架上工作。

本機(jī)配有透明殼體的FY200B型注油器，便于觀察油面、調(diào)節(jié)油量，以保證良好的潤滑。
